Started by acclaimed comic book writer and illustrator Tristan Jones in 2023 after trying to find a way to combine his love for music and art, THE SOUND MIND came about during long discussions over COVID lockdowns with New York Times Best Seller illustrator and gig-bud Douglas Holgate (Last Kids on Earth) after looking at their book shelves, then to their record shelves and realising where their true allegiances lay.

The idea began with starting a record store that would double as a studio space for creatives to work in, and quickly turned into discussions about pressing records themselves, be they original works from local and international artists or reissues of work lost to time.

Right now, you’re looking at the record store part of that grand scheme, but with active discussions with local pressing plants and artists already happening, THE SOUND MIND is very quickly growing to be the first port of call for all your sonic inspiration and listening choices, as well carefully curated literature, art and collectible items.
